During the appointment our medical team will give you their undivided attention when communicating important diagnoses, medications and treatments. In return, we also ask for your undivided attention by refraining from cellphone use or other distracting electronic devices when our team is present.

Our veterinarians and trained staff are available to communicate via phone or email should a question regarding your pet’s medical care arise. Please understand that the entire team has 24 hours or more to return the phone call or email.

Many medications utilized and prescribed in veterinary medicine are considered ‘Extra-Label’, meaning that in some cases an approved human or animal drug may be utilized in a manner that is not listed on the drug’s labeling to provide therapy and treatment for my pet.

Medication and prescription food will be dispensed when requested. We ask that all requests to be made 24 hours in advance. We will facilitate manufacturer guarantee claims for products purchased from us or our online pharmacy Covetrus. Our veterinarians are able to provide signed written prescriptions on legal prescription paper as requested. Please understand that we do not have an electronically secure way to transmit signed prescriptions so we ask that you pick up the prescription in person. Please understand that we will not be held responsible for any mistakes made by outside or internet pharmacies. Any medications that have been dispensed or products used for treatment cannot be returned.

Scheduling: Our team will facilitate getting your pet the medical treatment they need to the best of our ability. Please understand that at times it may be in your pet's best interest to receive care at an emergency hospital. Our highly trained team will triage your pet and help direct you through this process.

Late Arrivals: If you are more than ten (10) minutes late for your pet's appointment, our team will determine when best to see you. You may be worked into the schedule with or without a wait, you may be given the next available appointment or it may be necessary to reschedule.

Advanced Cancellation Notice:: If you wish to change or cancel an appointment, we appreciate a 24-hour advance notice. If you wish to change or cancel an admission appointment to our hospital, we require a 48-hour notice. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours (or 48 hours for hospital admission) before the scheduled time may be considered a missed appointment.

Missed Appointments: If you miss your first appointment as a new client without 24-hour notice, you may not be accepted into this practice. If you are an established client and miss three or more appointments within a year without 24-hour notice, you will be asked to pre-pay for the exam which can only be used on the date and time scheduled.

A Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship exists when your veterinarian knows your pet well enough to be able to diagnose and treat medical conditions your animal develops. Your part of the VCPR is allowing your veterinarian to take responsibility for making clinical judgments about your pet's health, asking questions to make sure you understand, and following your veterinarian's instructions.

A VCPR is established only when your veterinarian examines your animal in person. It's maintained by regular veterinary visits as needed to monitor your animal's health. If a VCPR is established but your veterinarian does not regularly see your pet afterward, the VCPR is no longer valid, and it would be illegal and unethical for your veterinarian to dispense or prescribe medications or recommend treatment without recently examining your pet.

As a client you can expect to be treated with consideration, respect and compassion by all members of our team and we ask the same in return. We have a zero-tolerance policy for verbal/physical abuse, discriminatory comments, threats, being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If this behavior is displayed, we reserve the right to terminate the veterinary client-patient relationship. We may also ask you to leave the property and may call law enforcement.

As a Fear Free Certified Practice, our entire team is committed and trained to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets. If high levels of fear, anxiety, or stress are noted, we will encourage you and our medical team to come up with an alternative plan moving forward.
